Overview

Works collaboratively with the Associate Vice President of Advancement and the Vice President of Advancement and Executive Director/Heritage Christian Services Foundation to develop overall strategies and objectives for annual, major gift, and planned giving that lead to increasing donations from new and current Heritage Christian donors.  To promote and support the mission of Heritage Christian Services, Inc.

 

Pay rate for this position:  $99566 / yr - $110628 / yr

 

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to develop comprehensive plans for Advancement events, including the HCS Golf Classic, Heritage Hero Run + Stroll + Roll, donor cultivation events, anniversary celebrations, and others.
  • Provide guidance and support to the event lead to ensure effective execution, including the creation of timelines, promotional strategies, and marketing needs.
  • Collaborate with the AVP of Advancement to develop and implement annual fundraising goals and metrics that align with the organization’s strategic priorities. Focus on donor retention, gift growth, new donor acquisition and successful event outcomes to ensure sustainable financial support.
  • Regularly evaluate progress toward goals by analyzing key performance indicators, including donor retention rates, average gift size and event revenue. Provide progress reports, identify trends while collaborating with team members to address underperforming areas and recognize successes.
  • Oversee the planning, execution and evaluation of all annual appeals, including developing compelling messaging, coordinating timelines, engaging with donors, and analyzing campaign performance to maximize participation and fundraising outcomes.
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 50 gift prospects annually, including new and existing donors.
  • Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward donors for the annual appeal, Leadership Circle, and Legacy Society. Focus on securing first-time gifts, increasing repeat giving, and growing donor levels.
  • Collaborate with the AVP of Advancement to create and oversee the annual Advancement budget.
  • Ensure accurate management and reporting of donor information within the donor database system.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and stakeholders to enhance the organization’s visibility and fundraising potential.
  • Work closely with the marketing and communications team to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging.
  • Collaborate with the board of directors and other key stakeholders to engage them in fundraising efforts and leverage their networks.
  • Stay informed of fundraising trends, best practices and shifts in the philanthropic landscape to adapt strategies as needed.
  • Supervise and support Advancement team members, including:
  1. Senior Donor Database Manager
  2. Database and Trust Coordinator
  3. Events and Corporate Relations Manager
  4. Volunteer Coordinator
  • Manage oversight of United Way of Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes community campaign and coordinate HCS workplace campaigns for UWGRFL, Buffalo, Erie, and Niagara Counties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associates degree acceptable with 3-5 years development experience
  • Management experience preferred
  • Demonstrates solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Possesses knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Raisers Edge
  • Being a poised leader with the ability to communicate with multiple constituencies including families, donors, volunteers and government officials
  • Valid NYS driver’s license that meets Agency motor vehicle standards
