Overview

The Senior Accountant position, reporting to Senior Accounting Manager, will assist with monthly and annual close responsibilities for the organization. Supports the delivery of accurate and timely reporting of financial results to management teams. Must be extremely detail oriented, highly organized requiring interaction with senior members of management while promoting and supporting the mission, vision, and values of Heritage Christian Services, Inc.

 

 

Pay for this position:  $66118 / yr - $78060 / yr

 

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting

Responsibilities

  • Supports the timely completion of monthly financial close and year-end financial statement audit.
  • Create monthly account journal entries as directed by the Director of Accounting and Finance.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
  • Work collaboratively with Director of Accounting and Finance to ensure financial results are prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Assist with preparing all other annual reporting requirements including CFR, cost reports and 990 filings.
  • Prepare sales tax filings.
  • Perform bookkeeping functions for the Foundation on a monthly basis.
  • Provide support to AP and AR, as needed.
  • Use independent judgement as to whether account balances are reasonable and examine accounting documents to ascertain those transactions are properly supported.
  • Prepare routine and non-routine reports and summarize recommendations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance or related experience, CPA license preferred.
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent Computer Skills including Excel, working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Great Plains preferred.
