Overview

Heritage Christian Services is hiring Community Support Staff to work one on one with people who live independently or with caregivers in the Greater Rochester Area. In this role, the staff support people in building life skills and empower people to discover and achieve what matters most to them. Shifts may be just a few hours or full days and evenings and may occur in the person's home or in their community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized guidance to people as they work towards different life skills, such as: managing money, learning to ride the bus, or cooking
  • Provide transportation and support people in building meaningful connections and relationships
  • Part-time positions consist of 6-30 hours with afternoon, evening and weekend shifts available
  • Full-time positions consist of 32-40 hours with day, afternoon, evening and weekend shifts available

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • A valid driver’s license with a record of responsible driving
  • Reliable transportation to travel with individuals
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds or more unassisted
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
