Overview

The Staff Training and Development Specialist facilitates a variety of training and educational programs and supports ongoing development to build employee knowledge and skills. This role maintains required instructional certifications, evaluates and updates curriculum to ensure regulatory compliance and effectiveness, and collaborates with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality learning experiences. The Specialist supports new employees through relationship-building and guidance while monitoring training outcomes to ensure organizational goals and interest holder expectations are met. 

 

Pay for this position: $25.28 / hr - 28.17 / hr

 

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate education and training programs, including new employee orientation, CPR/ AED, Positive Supports and SCIP-R, and a variety of continuing education classes to support employees with gaining skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain certifications to facilitate American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, AED, Pediatric CPR and Positive Supports and SCIP-R.
  • Evaluate and adapt curriculum as needed.
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development Specialist in the utilization of the learning management system.
  • Collaborate with the American Red Cross for blended learning courses taught at HCS.
  • Provide support to new employees through building relationships and positive communication, and assisting them with navigating through challenges.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of training efforts and ensures that all goals and objectives are successfully met on time and to the satisfaction of key stakeholders and clients.
  • May serve as a liaison between leadership and instructors to communicate curriculum revisions, regulatory updates, policy changes, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Ability to establish relationships with and influence networks of others whose participation and cooperation is needed for success with programs and actions; and over whom he/she has no formal authority.
  • Must have excellent stand–up delivery, facilitation, and course design skills that drive key learning outcomes and motivate application beyond the classroom.
  • Clear understanding of adult learning and the role it plays in facilitating learning.
  • Must be able to create/adapt customized training/learning programs.
  • Time and project management experience
  • Skilled at multi-tasking and prioritizing responsibilities and deliverables.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with schedule to offer training at a variety of times
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, bend and twist
  • Reliable transportation with the requirement to report to multiple locations if needed
  • 1 to 3 years of experience facilitating trainings
  • Associate’s Degree preferred, high school diploma required
