    The Wellness Associate position is responsible for maintaining close relationships with Pieters Family Life Center’s members and customers while supporting them in working towards and meeting their defined health and wellness goals.  Working under the direction of the Pieters Family Life Center director and wellness coordinator, the wellness associate will assist in the development and implementation of successful strategies to the meet the Pieters Family Life Center’s goals and objective


    1. Conduct fitness tours and fitness orientations.
    2. Provides information, assistance and direction for new Life Center participants with respect to fitness and wellness programs.
    3. Ensure a well kept, clean and safe fitness and aquatic environment by implementing daily, weekly and monthly cleaning procedures.
    4. Assist in assessments and evaluations to determine and recommend member exercise program or classes.
    5. Provides group fitness instruction (both land and aquatic), educates participants on fitness and safety, and maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants.
    6. Assists in developing successful strategies to achieve Life Center’s goals and objectives.
    7. Maintain high professional standards of service, appearance and behavior.
    8. Support the mission of the Pieters Family Life Center and Heritage Christian Services by offering support to special events and internal programming for Heritage Christian Services employees.



      • Minimum High School diploma required.
      • Completed or enrolled in an accredited academic program or in a nationally recognized certificate program in Health/Wellness Science, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science, Personal Fitness Training, Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.
      • A degree in health science (physiology, kinesiology) and fitness and/or the experience in the implementation of large scale fitness programs in preferred.
      • Ability to lead group land based and aquatic exercise programs.
      • Ability to effectively engage, motivates, and support individuals and audiences.
      • Experience in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or other diverse groups preferred.
      • Flexibility with scheduling
      • Positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
