  • Overview

    Responsible for the operations of Heritage Stables.  To support the mission, vision and values of Heritage Christian Services, Inc.

    Responsibilities

    1. Responsible for managing operations at Heritage Christian Stables.
    2. Works within budget and acts as a good steward of Agency funds.
    3. Supervision of employees at Heritage Christian Stables, including scheduling and oversight of employee responsibilities.
    4. Provide oversight to therapeutic riding program, and ensuring safe and quality lessons are present.
    5. Maintain Path accreditation.
    6. Provide appropriate education opportunities to all staff
    7. Provide oversight of horse care including rehoming and replacing of horses as needed.
    8. Maintain and enhance the community impact of Heritage Christian Stables, while building partnership with other community groups.
    9. Ability to work a flexible schedule to attend to the changing needs of the program.
    10. Create, promote and implement policies and procedures related to horse schooling/training.
    11. Oversee the recruitment and training of volunteers as required.
    12. Support fundraising planning and events while collaborating with the advancement team as needed.
    13. Provide a safe environment for employees, riders, and volunteers, and address concerns as they arise.
    14. Evaluate details to physical plant of building and grounds and implement changes as appropriate.
    15. Collaborate with day habilitation site in the operation of Heritage Christian Stables.
    16. Communicate clearly, honestly and respectfully with all staff, participants, parents and volunteers.
    17. Conduct annual planning, including budget, forecasting and program goals.
    18. Maintain billing and all related records.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of high school diploma required; college degree preferred
    • Experience with therapeutic riding for people with Intellectual Disabilities
    • Experience with fundraising
    • Path intl. Certification
    • Demonstrate solid interpersonal skills and effective communication with employees, riders, volunteers, and the greater community
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
    • Valid New York State driver’s license that is in compliance with Agency standards
