Working in conjunction with Director and Program manager to facilitate a high-quality lesson program.

Responsibilities

  1. To teach assigned lessons and substitute when required
  2. To maintain Path Certification and continue to improve upon skills
  3. Participate in selection of horses for program and on-going evaluation of current horses suitability for program
  4. Create and implement training program for horses
  5. Establish and maintain records related to each horses care, exercise, and use in program
  6. Assist with determine and participate in daily horse routines
  7. Supports Stables Coordinator with horse care including veterinarian and black smith care
  8. Participate in special events
  9. Attend scheduled meetings
  10. Provide acute medical attention as needed
  11. Follow industry standards

Qualifications

EDUCATION: 

  • Minimum of a high school diploma; college degree preferred
  • PATH certification preferred or commensurate experience with willingness to complete PATH certification

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with horses and care of horses
  • General knowledge of farm equipment
  • Ability to positively interact with participants, volunteers, staff, and community at large
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds is required
