To provide a quality riding program accessible to all and incorporates surrounding communities in programing. To support the mission, vision and values of Heritage Christian Services, Inc.

Responsibilities

  • To teach assigned lessons including matching horses, riders, and volunteers. Provide general supervision prior, during, and after lessons for volunteers, horses, and riders.
  • To complete all record keeping related to lessons including progress notes.
  • Participate in education to enhance knowledge of field.
  • Provide horses with general care as assigned including exercise riding and overall health. To ensure horses needs and well-being is met.
  • Recruit potential riders to meet vacancy in riding schedule to fill lesson capacity. Access fitness to ride through written and riding evaluations.
  • Develop and adjust riding schedule as needed to maximize riding participants while meeting the needs of all riders.
  • Obtain, review, and maintain all rider paperwork
  • Develop and maintain contact with riders and their supports
  • Participate in committees for Stable fundraising.
  • Organizing and executing of special events with assistance from development team.
  • Work collaboration with Director to enhance impact of Stables
  • Participate in planning and financial meetings.
  • Communicate all necessary information with appropriate party.
  • Follow therapeutic riding industry standards standards of the industry.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: 

  • Minimum of a high school diploma; college degree preferred
  • PATH Registered Instructor or equivalent preferred

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with horses and care of horses
  • Knowledge of operating farm equipment, including tractors
  • Ability to interact with a variety of people
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds is required
