Overview

We have fantastic Accounting and Finance Internship opportunities available at Heritage Christian Services headquartered at 275 Kenneth Drive, Rochester, NY 14623. This position is open to students pursuing Associates or Bachelor degrees in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration. Gain real-world relevant training and experience that will develop both hard and soft and skills in the field of accounting and finance. BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an Accounting Intern, you will be exposed to a variety of assignments as needed or on a rotational basis. Assignments include basic accounting procedures and principles ranging from accounts payable and receivable systems to financial statement, preparation, and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Petty cash field audits at Day Habilitation sites
  • Resident account audits performed in the field at various residential sites
  • Account reconciliations
  • Assist Accounting Manager and team with the Accounts Payable processes
  • Sales tax filing
  • Assist Staff Accountant and Director of Finance with accounting tasks for the Agency’s day-care centers, Expressive Beginnings Child Care, including account reconciliations, revenue reporting and payroll reporting
  • Assist the Financial Planning and Analysis team with monthly analysis of actual results versus budget allowable expense reconciliation – gathering invoices for all expenditures

Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing an Associates or  BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance
  • Strong accounting skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excellent with Excel, Power Point presentations
  • Excellent Communication Skills and ability to interact with multiple departments and programs
