When you apply for a community support position, you're choosing not to limit yourself to a single role. Sometimes you'll be an advocate for people with disabilities challenging stereotypes. Other times you'll serve behind the scenes as an ally, assisting with meal preparation, personal hygiene or taking medication. You can put all of your confidence and skills to work while you support a person with disabilities to be his or her best.
A full-time schedule is 32-40 hours weekly and part-time is 6-30 hours. Available shifts include mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
We’re making the hiring process easier by using a video interviewing technology called HireVue. After completing your online application, record your job interview using your computer or smartphone at a time that works for you. HireVue will send you an email with a link and instructions. If you can’t complete your interview right away, we’d love for you to complete it within a few days. One of our recruiters will be in touch within one to two business days with next steps. We can’t wait to see what you have to offer.

Community Support staff work in a changing environment that adjusts to the needs of the people served. The environment may be fast paced with interruptions, distractions and deadlines. Direct support staff need to be flexible and be able to adjust to changing needs or activities. Depending on the needs of people served, the work can be physically demanding including transferring or supporting people with mobility needs, lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds and walking or standing for extended periods of time.
We have positions throughout Livingston, Monroe, Ontario and Wayne Counties.
HCS is a place to grow.

You may be a great fit for direct support if your background includes being a teacher, HHA (Home Health Aide), CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) or any other healthcare position.
