Pay rate for this position: $19.30 / hr

 

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting

Responsibilities

Looking for a fulfilling career? We're hiring an assistant manager to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at a day habilitation program. This position gives you the opportunity to showcase your leadership and organizational skills in the role of an assistant manager. Not only will you be a DSP, you will be an advocate and voice as people exercise informed decision making in regards to their needs. You will be an ally as they communicate their wants and needs to others.  The assistant manager is a hands-on professional that has a direct role in supporting the well-being of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  The assistant manager is also responsible for training and mentoring direct support staff. In this role you will also assist the day hab manager in the operation and oversight of the day habilitation program serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of High School diploma or High School Equivalency; college experience preferred. 
  • Valid New York State drivers’ license that meets Heritage Christian Services motor vehicle standards. Reliable transportation required.
  • Physical ability to lift over 50 pounds and provide assistance to people who require support with transfers.
  • One year experience in direct support is required.
  • Six months of leadership or supervisor experience preferred.
