Overview

Seeking out grant funding to aid the Agency in support of its mission.  To promote and support the mission of Heritage Christian Services, Inc.

 

Pay rate for this position: $55369.60 / year - $64584 / year

 

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting

Responsibilities

  • Create a comprehensive grant strategy and execute
  • Define best practices and processes for communicating and planning with various department heads
  • Research and identify grant makers
  • Manage funders- government, foundation, and special interest group grant makers – within Raiser’s Edge database
  • Cultivate relationships with grant makers
  • Facilitate program development
  • Write and submit grant proposals
  • Coordinate and/or write letters of acknowledgment
  • Publicize grant wins via news releases and newsletter highlights
  • Steward grant funds and monitor how grant funds are used
  • Write and submit foundation reports including interim and final

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or 3 – 5 years of related experience preferably in a non-profit setting or related field.
  • Demonstrates solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success with grant funding and reporting
  • Possesses knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs
  • Effective organizational skills 
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex tasks and processes
  • Ability work in a fast-paced office and manage multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy
  • Understanding of donor relationships; ability to communicate with Board and donors; ability to work within a team
  • Ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently
  • A valid, New York state driver’s license that follows Heritage Christian Services’ motor vehicle record standards
